Gender and Sexual Diversity
Brazil's central challenge is to end all forms of discrimination against all women and girls, and LGBTI people across the country; ensure the full and effective participation of women and LGBTI people and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life; eliminate all forms of violence against all women and LGBTI populations in public and private spheres. For this it is necessary to:
1
Promote the enjoyment of rights; strengthen human rights education and culture; respect and appreciate the diversities of race, nationality, gender, culture, religion, sexual orientation, age and disability; and act from inter-federative and inter-institutional perspectives.
2
Strengthen the process of political, democratic and equal participation of women and LGBTI people in the spheres of power and decision-making, considering their diversity and specificities.
3
Expand and strengthen the dialogue with civil society and social movements, in particular with feminist and women's movements, women with disabilities, LGBTIA+ groups, urban and rural peoples, and communities of Indigenous Peoples and different ethnic-racial and generational groups.
4
Promote economic, social, sexual autonomy and guarantee rights, considering women and LGBTI people in their diversities and specificities.
